Next Friday will mark one year to the day since the attack at the Notre-Dame de l’Assomption Basilica in Nice.

In tribute to the three victims of the attack killed on October 29, 2020, a day will be dedicated to their memory.

This tribute will begin first at 8:45 a.m., with the city’s administrations and services pausing for reflection, while the churches in Nice will toll their bells.

The day will resume at 5 p.m. with the unveiling of a work by the artist Théo Tobiasse in front of the basilica, titled “The Dove of Peace”, created in tribute to the victims. Residents of Nice will then be able to pay their respects in front of the artwork and lay roses.

At 5:30 p.m., a plaque in memory of the victims will be unveiled, followed by a performance of a song by one of the victims’ children.

Finally, the day will conclude with an organ and singing concert by Elizabeth Vidal, a Nice-born soprano. After the concert, Monseigneur André Marceau will lead the mass, which will begin at 7 p.m..
