A day of exchange on the theme of eco-business!

The Petra Patrimonia Business and Employment Cooperative organized a day of discussion yesterday at the CEEI in Nice, focusing on the theme of eco-business, in partnership with the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis.

Eco-construction, renewable energies, bio-technologies, sustainable agriculture, ecotourism… These are sectors widely presented as activity and job creators. But what is the reality today? Where and how are businesses created in these sectors? What roles do cooperatives and social economy actors play in sectors increasingly dominated by large internationally-oriented companies? This was the focus of the event organized yesterday at the CEEI in Nice.

“This day of exchanges highlights the testimonies of successful entrepreneurs and cooperatives in these fields, emphasizing the benefits of cooperative entrepreneurship in these future-oriented sectors,” said Patrick Torre, manager of CDE Petra Patrimonia, in his introduction to the speech by Christian Tordo, Deputy Mayor of Nice for Economy, Employment, Industry, and Innovation.

“In parallel, to address the Mediterranean ecological challenge, synergies between French and Italian eco-entrepreneurs are necessary. The INVITRA cooperation project, implemented by the European Union, aims to create a virtual cross-border incubator to support the creation of cooperative businesses and innovative companies in the cooperation area between the PACA region, Corsica, Sardinia, Liguria, and Tuscany,” added Xavier Carlioz, head of the energy sector at the CCI.

In 2017 in France, business cooperatives accounted for 3,177 companies (including 325 in PACA) and 57,700 jobs.
