How does it work?

Each municipal officer has a personal smart card allowing them to use one of the electronic devices (50% of the cost of the devices was financed by the State following the convention signed between the Town Hall and the Prefecture).

The device functions like a traditional fine stamp: the offender signs directly on the device using a stylus.

Parking offenses are indicated by a paper affixed to the vehicle (though the law no longer requires evidence to be left on the windshield).

The offenses are transmitted directly to the National Processing Center in Rennes by simply downloading the data via a USB connection linking the device to a computer.

The offender receives their fine within 3 to 5 days.

The consequences?

Time savings and, therefore, increased efficiency for Municipal Police officers who no longer have to manually process fines.

Paper savings and over €2,000 per year in fines stamp purchases.
