A first Nice-Paris flight powered by sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)

Latest News

Air France flight 6235 took off this Friday at 6:30 PM from Terminal 2 of Nice Airport, heading to Paris-Orly, after being refueled with 30% sustainable aviation fuel, produced by TotalEnergies in its French factories.

The flight took place as the conclusion of the “Transition Forum,” an international economic forum organized over two days, alongside the Nice Transition Days, with the goal of accelerating the transition to a less carbon-intensive future.

This flight from France’s second-largest airport is one of the realizations of the common ambition carried by public and private stakeholders to address a double major challenge: continuing the decarbonization of air transport while supporting the economic and tourism dynamism of the regions.

Following a first long-haul flight powered by SAF produced in France last May, this is an additional achievement for Air France and TotalEnergies to support and develop a French sector for sustainable aviation fuel production, a prerequisite essential for the widespread use of such fuels in French airports.
