opera_nice-3.jpg Each year, as part of its artistic season finale, Les Ballets des Alpes-Maritimes and the Danse Passion school join forces to mobilize hundreds of children from the City of Nice and numerous stage, music composition, dance, and singing professionals to present an original artistic creation.

The year 2011 will be the year of “THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA,” a choreographic, multimedia, and musical creation staged by choreographer Julia Tumorticchi in association with Johanne Jouvin and Isabelle Azzorin – A musical comedy in the form of an English-language opera (in the purest tradition of London musicals) which will be presented for a unique evening.

The Phantom of the Opera is THE musical among all musicals.

Adapted from the famous French suspense novel (by Gaston Leroux), whose legendary and terrifying character emerges from the depths of the Paris Opera, this musical brings the mythical opera ghost to life in a frightening way.

A year was needed to create and stage this show, during which a story fed by tales of love, struggles, and heroes is told… and all the artists present will come together to present a grand opera tale, in collaboration with an artistic and educational team from the Alpes-Maritimes.

200 child dancers, 50 adult dancers will be the performers of this brand-new creation proposed by Les Ballets des Alpes-Maritimes and the Danse Passion school, directed by Michèle and Julia Tumorticchi.

We will also have the pleasure of seeing the talented performers Elena Golomeova (soprano), Bernard Imbert (baritone), and Viano (baritone) who will bring the main characters of this tale to life.
