This Saturday, December 2, in the early afternoon, several hundred people did not hesitate to make the trip to try to take on the challenge.

Born from a collaboration between the associations “La Dictée Géante” and “ADAM”, with additional support from the municipality as well as many other partners, the event was a hit.

In a friendly atmosphere, all generations (from 8 to 99 years old) from all neighborhoods of Nice, particularly the City Policy Neighborhoods (QPV), challenged each other with a text on the theme of the sea imagined by the creator and organizer of the concept, Rachid Santaki.

The Pivot of the Suburbs

Designed to provide access to reading and writing to as many people as possible, the “Dictée Géante” is also a space for promoting republican values through cultural heritage texts, as well as a space for self-improvement where the focus is on the French language.

Nicknamed “the Pivot of the Suburbs,” the journalist and writer Rachid Santaki insists: the stated goal is not to turn it into a school moment, a chore, or a punishment, but to “have fun”.
