The Libération market has just been selected to participate in the election for the most beautiful market in France, organized by TF1, a first for the market in Nice.
Will the Libération market succeed Etaples-Sur-Mer (Pas de Calais), which was voted the most beautiful market in France last July? Initially, internet users have until March 9 to choose among the six candidates to represent the PACA region via this site. Among the competitors in the department, you will find the Gustave Eiffel market in Beausoleil and the Hall Foch market in Forville at Cannet.
Once the candidate to represent the PACA region is chosen, another vote will take place to elect the most beautiful market in France. The grand winner will be announced next June.
What do the people of Nice think?
We went to meet with the merchants and customers to get their reaction following this nomination.
“It’s a great pride, and it’s very encouraging for us, merchants. If we win, we hope it will bring more visibility to this beautiful market,” starts one of the traders at the Libération market. “I wasn’t aware of this nomination, you just informed me. But it’s deserved, and actually, it doesn’t surprise me much!”, shares another vendor.
“It’s totally deserved. The products are always of quality, the merchants are nice, and the place is very beautiful,” says Christelle, a loyal customer for several years. An opinion shared by many customers, who all seem very proud of this nomination. Pride indeed seems to dominate the Libération market this morning after the announcement of the nomination, both among the people of Nice and the vendors. “Who has been nominated for the most beautiful market in France? It’s us!” exclaims a merchant, visibly delighted by the news.
If you want to see this emblematic market in Nice become the most beautiful market in France, you have until March 9 to go and vote!
