From May 19 to 25, 2013, the Imperial Park hill will once again become the temple of the little yellow ball, as it takes its rightful place on the clay courts of the Nice Lawn Tennis Club, a 1.6-hectare site right in the city center.
With a total prize of €461,950, the Open Nice Côte d’Azur* is part of the “ATP World Tour 250”. Last year, it was the Spaniard Almagro who won the title against the American revelation Baker (6/3, 6/2).
The 2012 edition was a great success: 22,000 spectators, significant national and international media coverage (newspapers, radio, and television). For the 2013 edition, a high-quality lineup is anticipated just before the grand event of French tennis at Roland Garros.
This year, the tournament will host 28 players, with an exceptional lineup for this 4th edition: Tomas Berdych, Gilles Simon, John Isner, Gael Monfils, Lleyton Hewitt. Also: Andreas Seppi, Marcel Granollers, Fabio Fognini, Benoit Paire, Xavier Malisse, Sam Querrey…
There will be many contenders for this new edition of the Nice Open, and while Tomas Berdych, the local favorite Gilles Simon, and the Italian Andreas Seppi are among the favorites for the event, one should also consider the Italian armada (Fabio Fognini and Paolo Lorenzi) and the American (Sam Querrey and John Isner), as well as other French players: Gaël Monfils, Benoit Paire, and Paul-Henri Mathieu.
The temple of the little yellow ball will open its doors once again from May 19 to 25 on the Imperial Park hill!
