Note on Photography

“Photography does not remind us of the past, it attests that what I see has been”
This phrase is an excerpt from Roland Barthes’s book “Camera Lucida” reminding us that photography is a representation of our past life, hence the term “has been.”

During the opening, many people such as art critics, collectors, and others attend to celebrate the opening.

The opening honors women to show the significant role they have in society.

Examples include Dorothea Lange’s work “Migrant Mother,” 1936, or Gary Winogrand’s photo “Women are Beautiful,” 1960.
