The Prefecture informs that an accommodation site for homeless individuals infected with the coronavirus Covid-19 is operational starting this Sunday.
This is a holiday center, located on the foothills of Mont-Chauve in Falicon, north of Nice, belonging to the social works of the electricity and gas industries, which has been made available to the State “without the need for requisition,” specifies the Prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes.
The eighteen rooms will be able to accommodate as many homeless individuals positive for the coronavirus coming from reception centers open in all municipalities with more than 15,000 inhabitants. This health measure is aimed at preventing potentially sick individuals from infecting their accommodation neighbors.
This Sunday, the Prefecture indicates that the site, managed by the ALC association in collaboration with the regional health agency (ARS), has not yet received any patients. In any case, it is intended to only receive “non-serious” patients, with others needing to be taken care of in a hospital setting.
