The historical relations between Nice and Russia are well-known; they are part of the cultural heritage and cover several fields of activity. One of these is the relationship in the field of energy policy, whose strategic importance is recognized by everyone.
It is focused on the activities of the Club of Nice, whose members, eminent scientists and academics, meet annually for conferences and exchanges.
The contacts and relations have led to considering the opportunity for a permanent presence of the Academy in Nice to better develop this collaboration, potentially extending it to other subjects and fields.
Since last Friday, on the occasion of the annual meeting of the Club of Nice, this has become a reality: Christian Estrosi and Valery Kostiouk have signed the protocol that will allow for โan active and ever-expanding collaboration with Russiaโ – as the Mayor of Nice described it when presenting it.
Economy, culture, and sciences will be the preferred areas, with renewable energies being in the forefront, with Nice aiming to be a major player in their application.
Additionally, within the framework of the Eco-Vallรฉe activities, there is ongoing consideration for the creation of a French-Russian incubator for companies working on environmental and green economy issues.
