Last night, a ball with a 1940s-1950s theme was held in Nice at the Verdure Theater. It kicks off four days of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Nice’s liberation during World War II. Discover some images of the event here.

From 6 p.m., the Verdure Theater gave way to music and the dance steps of the audience, accompanied by several dancers. It was an opportunity to celebrate history, with the city of Nice “proud and glorious,” as General de Gaulle described it in 1945. On-site, several stands were present to allow everyone to eat or quench their thirst. Until midnight, concerts followed one another to celebrate with joy and good humor. Until Wednesday, other ceremonies will take place, such as a torchlight vigil and a tribute to the Nice resistance fighters at the town hall.
