Three days after the terrorist attack in the Notre-Dame Basilica in Nice, the city’s Catholics gathered yesterday for All Saints’ Day with a special prayer for the three victims, Simone Barreto Silva, Vincent Loquès, and Nadine Devillers. A mass was celebrated by the Bishop of Nice, Monsignor André Marceau, in the presence of numerous political figures.
Hundreds of flower bouquets, candles, and dozens of messages were placed in front of the basilica.
Many faithful and passersby gathered in front of the basilica, which was closed during the preparation for the mass.
A good number of political figures were present to attend the mass, such as Christian Estrosi accompanied by his wife, Charles Ange Ginésy, Éric Ciotti, Cédric Roussel, Dominique Estrosi Sassone, Anthony Borré, Philippe Padal, and many others. A hundred people were invited to attend this solemn mass.
