A lot of enthusiasm for ski resorts

Latest News

Tourists and winter sports enthusiasts are flocking to ski resorts this winter! The booking rate has indeed seen a significant increase this winter.

Despite the transport strike, ski resorts are enjoying a positive season this winter. Figures from the National Association of Mountain Resort Mayors show that booking rates have increased year over year: tourists took advantage of the end-of-year holidays to enjoy the abundant snow that has fallen in recent days.

At 70%, the rates have increased by 3 points compared to the same period in 2018. Tourist residences, in particular, are highly favored, with an increase of 8 points, reaching 78%. Hotels are also benefiting from this enthusiasm, with an increase of 5 points, now at 61%. Only holiday clubs see their booking rates stagnate from one year to the next.

Many vacationers are thus enjoying the delights of the snow at the end of the year, despite the difficulties caused by the transport strikes, especially at the SNCF, which make travel difficult. However, the ski resorts have implemented alternative solutions to transport their tourists, who have also turned to carpooling or simply used their own vehicles.

Foreign tourists have also turned up. And the situation is expected to improve further in January: professionals anticipate a 3-point increase in booking rates. And who knows, if the SNCF strike were to end, the outcome could be even more positive.
