This occurred at 13 Rue du Rocher near Boulevard Gambetta in the night from Friday to Saturday around 3:00 am. It appears to be a brawl that went wrong after a dispute between the victim and the aggressor. The young man died despite the intervention of emergency services.
The individual was stabbed multiple times, in the back and chest. The assailant fled before the arrival of emergency services and the police. This new attack follows the increase in knife assaults according to Parvine Derivery, Deputy Prosecutor of the Republic of Nice. Thus, the response from the prosecutor’s office was swift. Henceforth, the police and gendarmerie will be able to take into custody anyone in possession of or transporting a bladed weapon. On the side of the court, Deputy Prosecutor Xavier Bonhomme declared that there will be automatically “a criminal response” regardless of the suspect’s criminal record.
