At the initiative of the Artists’ Chaplaincy, a mass was held yesterday late afternoon, presided over by Bishop André Marceau, Bishop of Nice, and preached by the artists’ chaplain Yves-Marie Lequin, in honor of Notre-Dame de Paris at the Church of Saint Pierre d’Arène.
The celebration was open to all those who wanted to express their sorrow and hope following the dreadful tragedy of the fire at the Notre Dame de Paris cathedral and basilica.
Organist Stéphane Eliot played pieces by the great composers and organ incumbents of Notre Dame, including Pierre Cochereau, who was the director of the Nice conservatory.
