A new Clinical Research Center at the Nice University Hospital

The Nice University Hospital (CHU), in collaboration with the Antoine Lacassagne Cancer Center (CAL), announces the creation of a multidisciplinary Clinical Research Center (CRC) shared by both the CHU and CAL.

The project from the CHU and CAL, supported by numerous clinical and scientific teams and coordinated by Prof. Philippe Bahadoran, was selected from among 32 other projects out of 98 applications submitted in response to a call for projects by the Ministry of Health.

As a result, the new CRC will receive official certification from the DGOS and an annual budget of โ‚ฌ500,000 for five years, enabling the recruitment of staff specialized in clinical research.

The CRC will be located at the Archet Hospital, where the CHU will create optimized facilities for clinical research, with additional premises at the CAL, and an โ€œoff-premisesโ€ operation within other units of the establishment.

The objective of this structure will be to increase the number of clinical trials at the Nice site as well as the number of patients likely to benefit from these trials, while maximizing their care safety with specific resources.

Four priority areas will be involved: Personalized therapies in oncology, Technological innovations, Metabolism and inflammation disorders, and Therapeutic development in rare diseases.

The Nice University Hospital is already ranked 14th nationally in terms of scientific publications, and the CAL is in 5th position among Cancer Control Centers.

Close cooperation exists between the two institutions with a common medical project, the creation of the University Institute of the Face and Neck, a Tumor Bank, and more.

This new synergistic project between the two structures will enhance the performance of the CHU and CAL in the field of clinical research.
