The British company EasyJet has announced the opening of a new route between Nice and Birmingham. Two weekly flights will be offered starting May 1, 2026.
EasyJet is adding a destination to its offer from Nice. The airline announced the opening of a direct connection to Birmingham starting May 1, 2026. Two flights per week will be offered. They will take place on Mondays and Fridays, mainly to facilitate round trips for British and French workers between their homes and workplaces. This decision is part of a network expansion plan aimed at improving connectivity between France and the United Kingdom.
The announcement comes at a time when the company is multiplying line openings. It has already confirmed new routes between Paris-CDG and London-Stansted starting March 5, 2026. A link between Montpellier and Manchester will also be launched on March 30, 2026. This move confirms a strategy of network expansion. The objective is to strengthen connections from several active and attractive regions.
The role of Nice Côte d’Azur is evolving within this framework. The airport is accelerating its transformation into a major European hub. The site benefits from sustained demand, driven by tourism activity and continuous economic exchanges. In this context, the Birmingham connection complements a series of openings already announced or established from Nice.
Several routes have been added since 2025. They include Newcastle, Düsseldorf, Madrid, Lamezia Terme, and Santorini. A route to Hurghada, Egypt, has also been inaugurated. These openings illustrate the intention to diversify destinations and meet various traveler flows.
Tickets for Nice–Birmingham are already on sale. As of today, prices start at 45 euros. This pricing aims to attract a mixed clientele, composed of leisure travelers and business passengers. The market between the two countries remains dynamic. It is one of the priority axes for the company, which continues its presence on short and medium-haul routes.
The low-cost airline emphasizes its intention to strengthen exchanges between territories.
