A new departmental park inaugurated in the Estérel

In the presence of numerous elected officials, Charles Ange Ginesy, President of the Alpes-Maritimes Department, inaugurated the Estérel-Théoul departmental maritime park: “It is a source of pride to see a project come to fruition that fully symbolizes the ambition of our community.”

The site features underwater landscapes of great richness and diversity, which are essential to protect.

The preservation and enhancement of natural spaces, both on sea and land, are the challenges of this new park, a crucial mission for environmental protection and biodiversity maintenance.

The park also aims to limit the impacts on the environment, without turning the site into a sanctuary: it supports local professional fishing activities, reflects on the organization of moorings, and establishes fixed mooring devices.

The goal is also to promote public awareness and education about the environment, notably by setting up access points to the site with signage and information panels and creating an underwater discovery and information trail.

“We will remain fully committed, as part of the GREEN Deal, to promote all initiatives that contribute to the ecological transition and respect for the departmental natural heritage,” said Charles Ange Ginesy.
