A new hiking getaway has just been opened with the Balcons de Carros offering a breathtaking view of the Var Valley and the Mercantour.
Inaugurated today and registered in the Departmental Plan for Walk and Hiking Routes (PDIPR), the Balcons de Carros route is a 2.5-hour hike starting from Carros village. It ascends to the Graviรจre canal and offers a remarkable view with the Mercantour mountains to the north and the lower Var Valley down to the sea to the south.
The partnership between the Department and the Carros municipality has enabled the creation of an extensive route and, more broadly, an optimization of the PDIPR for an improved hiking offer.
It was decided, in particular, to reopen the section that climbs from the washhouse to the Graviรจre canal and to develop a path from the canal to reach the Goubet district.
