A new lawn at the Allianz Riviera

For the past 2 years, Nice Eco Stadium has chosen to switch from a 100% natural grass pitch to a hybrid pitch, thus meeting the repeated requests of the club. This pitch performed very well throughout the past season, as evidenced by the ranking maintained by the LFP with an average score of 16.7/20 and a 4th place among Ligue 1 pitches.

This pitch was retained for the Women’s World Cup, where it was also praised by both the LOC and FIFA for its good condition and quality.

However, Nice Eco Stadium reported after the France vs. Scotland rugby match that the pitch suffered a sudden, significant, and unexpected attack of mycelium and Grey Leaf Spot at the end of July, during a period of high heat.

The analysis and treatment recommendations in terms of seeding and maintenance enabled a return to an average pitch, but significantly improved, for the OGC Nice vs. Amiens match on August 8 and in anticipation of the France vs. Scotland match on Saturday, August 17.

During this match, however, several localized turf tears quickly appeared during the scrums.

Nice Eco Stadium has decided to lay new turf on the affected areas, covering between 150 and 200 m², in addition to intensive maintenance and a background treatment compatible with the sports calendar.
