Yesterday, Christian Estrosi inaugurated new sports facilities in the Saint-Roch district, with the highlight being the inauguration of the Plateau Leclerc in the name of George Carlin.

This was one of the main expectations from the leaders of USONAC Saint-Roch Vieux-Nice, and it is now fulfilled. Three synthetic pitchesโ€”one existing and two newโ€”are now at the disposal of USRVN at the new George Carlin Stadium to promote the practice of football.

New installations also enhance the multi-sport offering in the Saint-Roch district, with the delivery of a completely renovated municipal hall over a total area of 880 m2, replacing the old premises of the Niรงois Institute of Sports. The new Saint-Roch municipal hall will host the club’s headquarters and develop other activities such as dance and martial arts, with the presence of another club, LEGION NICE, which has successfully worked with the youth of this district for several years, promoting combat sports.

On this occasion, the Plateau Leclerc was inaugurated by Christian Estrosi and Gilles Veissiรจre, in the name of George CARLIN, to pay tribute to a great leader of Nice football, the general secretary of the District Cรดte dโ€™Azur Football association, who passed away on July 2 of this year.

George Carlin spent his entire career in leadership positions within the clubs of Vieux-Nice, which later became the Entente Sant-Roch-Vieux Nice. It recently merged with USONAC to form USRVN (USONAC-Saint-Roch-Vieux-Nice) for this new season. “USRVN, chaired by Marius Borgomano, thus becomes a leading multi-sport club in the east of the city, and its football section is now the third largest club in Nice in terms of members,” declared the Mayor of Nice.
