A new mutual insurance for the most disadvantaged people of Nice

Latest News

On May 27, Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice, announced at the end of the city council meeting the implementation of a municipal health insurance plan for the most disadvantaged residents of Nice.

This insurance, in partnership with the CCAS (Municipal Center for Social Action of the City of Nice) and the Mutโ€™Com association (a non-profit organization prioritizing medical insecurity), was unanimously adopted by the city council members. The initiative to create this solidarity aid stems primarily from the increase in individual insurance plans in 2021 and is also inspired by the city of Menton, which launched a similar aid for its residents at the end of February.

As announced by Christian Estrosi, this insurance will be open to all Nice residents, with no age or income conditions. “In a spirit of solidarity towards the most disadvantaged, I wish to offer the people of Nice a municipal insurance plan to ensure access to healthcare for unemployed youth, seniors, the unemployed, and certain workers.”

This new insurance, which will be implemented in September, primarily targets households with low income that do not receive social benefits. Since June, the implementation of this initiative has been accelerating, and the municipality should soon begin promoting it to the public of Nice.
