Maxim Toesca has become the new president of the JCEMN, succeeding Cรฉcile Hallier. This occasion is an opportunity to learn more about this association, which boasts thirty years of experience, and its new president.

Initially, the JCE was an opportunity for him to build a network as he launched his business, but more importantly, he saw it as a chance to explore beyond the building industry. โWhatโs beautiful about the association is its welcoming atmosphere, along with concrete and serious actions.โ Since joining the JCE, Maxim Toesca has traveled extensively to attend various congresses organized by the association, in Spain, Belgium, and Denmark, seeing his professional network expand greatly.
What is JCE?
The Young Economic Chamber is an international movement of young professionals and business leaders aged 18 to 40. It comprises 150 local chambers throughout France, offering young people opportunities to develop their businesses and create networks (professional or social) by getting involved in public interest projects. Members are trained through action according to a training program and the experience of professionals. In Nice, the JCEMN has existed since 1975 and currently consists of about twenty volunteers all committed to the city’s welfare.

The year 2012 was a source of success for the Young Economic Chamber of the Nice Metropolis, with a name change, a seat on the Local Sustainable Development Council, and the induction of six new members. For the new year, the association plans to double down with numerous projects already underway. Four committees are in progress:
- Cross Crea: A sort of informational campaign aimed at presenting the concept of entrepreneurship to young students in professional fields, who paradoxically are the least informed on the subject. To dispel common misconceptions, the JCE is committed to showing these young people that having numerous diplomas is not a necessity to start a business. They want to demonstrate that with their qualifications, they can become their own bosses and create their own jobs.
- JCI Challenge: A commission with a humanitarian goal that brings together all JCE members internationally for sports events. All proceeds will be donated to the “Nothing But Nets” campaign in the fight against malaria.
- Create the Med Flag: A broad reflection on Euro-Mediterranean identity. The goal is to unite all children from the Mediterranean region to create a flag representing the entire zone. The completed works will be showcased during a pavement painting festival, which will either be local or culminate in a trip to Turkey.
- Finally, the JCEMN hopes to recruit around ten more members by the end of the new year.
