This Saturday, four candidates will compete for the title of Queen of May during the May Festival in Old Nice. Initiated by Nissart Per Tougiou, no fewer than ten Nice associations support this election and will recognize the winner as their representative of the Nice culture.
In order to be elected, each candidate must present her personality combined with her love for local culture through a performance of her choice, this Saturday, May 24th at 1 p.m.
The elected queen will then enjoy numerous privileges and will be required to make public appearances at cultural events in the county of Nice for an entire year.
The Candidates
They are between 18 and 26 years old and are proud of their culture.
For Anne, Nice culture is synonymous with celebration and a good atmosphere, and it will be her talents in traditional dance that will be unveiled.
Angélique, on the other hand, is already a showwoman. An actress at the Francis Gag theater, a member of the Nice la Belle group, but also the current Queen of Félibrige, she will perform her theatrical act with the third candidate, Marie. The latter is also an actress at the Francis Gag theater and a dancer at Nice la Belle.
Mathilde is better known for her divine voice, as she is part of the young polyphonic choir Stoufa Gari.

10 a.m. Dance class, led by Solange, open to all, and a cooking workshop led by Denis and Laetitia, reserved for members. Come make the pan-bagnat to be served at noon!
12 p.m. Tasting/sale of pan-bagnat made by the workshop students
1 p.m. Election of the Queen of May: Anne, Angélique, Marie, and Mathilde will show you what they are capable of! And the jury will choose their Queen of May.
2 p.m. Singing with the choir of Nissart per Tougiou, conducted by Arnaud.
2:30 p.m. Baleti with all musicians who wish to join, interspersed with games (mourra, pignata, ronde des mai…)
6 p.m. You can then join the May festival of the Semeuse which takes place from this time next door, at the Semeuse stadium…
