A new Sport&Business Club in Nice?

Presentation at the Tennis Law Club of an initiative by a Marseilles-based group aiming to replicate in Nice first, and then in the major French cities, a concept that already exists and has been successful in the Phocean capital.

sportbusiness.jpg This project’s goal is to create a national network to facilitate meetings, generate connections, and unite different (future) clubs, allowing each member to engage effortlessly.

In Marseille, a Sport&Business Club has already existed for two years (launch event in December 2008) and currently has 130 members.

The promoters of the initiative (Virginie Negri, Richard Collat, Frรฉdรฉric Chollet, and Eric Jauffret) have launched a “campaign” to establish a second replica in Nice before moving on to conquer other cities with an undoubtedly ambitious program: Lyon, Montpellier, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nantes, Lille, Strasbourg, Aix-en-Provence.

If their bet succeeds, they will have set up a network of nearly 1,000 people who can share the same “emotions,” which is the key word of this networking.

On the menu, on the sports side, are friendly evenings (six per year) with renowned figures from the sports world, reliving with them the highlights and behind the scenes of their achievements. Participants will also be at the heart of events by attending an international-level event together once a year and being present at local ones.

On the business side, by meeting local and national economic players at these events, facilitated by a common passion and having an interesting platform for professional and personal communication.

Moreover, do the Japanese not say that business deals are made on the golf greens? In a more domestic manner in Marseille (and perhaps tomorrow in Nice), it might be done around a good table, chatting with friends!
