The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis has announced the construction of a superstructure parking facility with 500 spaces in the Vauban district. This project also includes an urban park of 4,000 mยฒ.

Located to the east of Nice, the Vauban district continues its transformation. The creation of this parking facility aims to meet parking needs. The idea is to offer a green space accessible to residents and users.

The 4,000 mยฒ park is expected to play an important role in adapting to climate change. This building aims to limit heat accumulation and provide a more pleasant environment.

A Sustainable Approach Adapted to New Uses

The building will be equipped with 1,800 mยฒ of photovoltaic panels on its roof to produce renewable energy. A rainwater collection system will be installed to optimize water use, especially for the maintenance of the park.

The parking offering will include 100 spaces with charging stations for electric vehicles, 110 spaces for bicycles, and 40 for motorized two-wheelers. This project thus supports the evolution of mobility towards more sustainable modes.

Completion First Quarter 2026

The work will begin soon for a commissioning scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice, highlights the importance of this development: “I am very pleased to be able to announce to the residents of Vauban, Saint-Jean dโ€™Angely, and Saint-Roch that a new superstructure parking facility with more than 500 spaces will be delivered to them at the beginning of 2026! This accompanies the transformation of the eastern districts of the city of Nice and offers a varied parking option, with the renovation of the Indigo parking lot in Saint-Roch (130 spaces), and the delivery of the Vauban park-and-ride facility (391 spaces) in 2021.”

The president of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis clarifies: “It is not just a parking facility, but also an urban park of 4,000 mยฒ that will surround it to combat heat islands. The whole will be self-managed in terms of water through a rainwater recovery system. Additionally, 1,800 mยฒ of photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roof to produce renewable energy.”
