A partnership agreement at the University Hospital Center

Latest News

The City of Nice and the Côte d’Azur Metropolis are proposing a partnership agreement to support the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Nice. This agreement facilitates housing access for CHU staff.

Given the currently tight real estate sector, the University Hospital Center is facing difficulties in recruiting staff. This affects more than 9,000 employees, 880 doctors (students and residents), and 250 positions to be filled. This is why the City of Nice and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis are supporting the CHU in its efforts with its agents and employees. This action, undertaken as part of the housing policy and as a strategy to boost economic attractiveness, will help promote these essential positions for the prosperity of the region and the services offered to residents.

A General Mobilization

The mobilization of everyone allows for better housing access for hospital staff, which is absolutely essential. The State and the City of Nice are already making significant efforts by using their allocations and proposing candidates to the CHU. However, the partners’ commitment reflects the ambition to go even further.

Thus, this Friday, December 9, during the City Council meeting, a partnership agreement was signed with the social landlords CDC Habitat, Erilia, Grand Delta Habitat, and Côte d’Azur Habitat. As part of this partnership, they will:

  • Make their intermediate rental offering accessible to CHU hospital professionals.
  • Offer available intermediate housing within their real estate portfolio (both existing and new properties) at a rent that falls between the open market rent and the upper limit of social housing rent.

Households with the most modest incomes will be accommodated in the social housing stock. As for those with intermediate incomes, they will be accommodated in the intermediate housing stock. Anthony Borré, First Deputy in charge of Proximity, Security, Housing, and Urban Renovation, thanks all the landlords who have agreed to engage in this approach.
