Port Lympia College inaugurates the first phase of the digital backpack generalization by providing a tablet for each 6th-grade student (6 classes).
During the 2013-2014 school year, the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes had already provided 700 tablets to 21 colleges in the department to conduct various educational usage experiments and to also address the public health issue posed by the weight of students’ backpacks.
All colleges with high-speed internet connections will be offered the possibility to opt for this system. Approximately fifteen colleges are expected to be equipped with a total of 2,300 tablets during the new school year.
