To protest against the far-right, which has reached the second round of the presidential election, a gathering is planned in Nice this Saturday.
It is SOS Racisme that is behind this demonstration. In a statement, the association is calling for a rally “against Marine Le Pen, against the far-right, against hatred.”
“For the third time, the far-right has qualified for the second round of the presidential election. But, for the first time, Marine Le Pen, the candidate facing Emmanuel Macron, is projected to achieve scores that do not rule out her victory on the evening of April 24.”
The far-right in power means a policy of violence, crime, and racism (…). Minorities will be stigmatized (…). This will affect our acquaintances, friends, colleagues, families. Our loved ones will be denied work, housing, will be insulted, beaten, humiliated because they are Arabs, Muslims, Jews, lesbians, trans, or gay.”
The demonstration will form at Place Masséna, on Saturday, April 16 starting at 3 PM.
