Adopted by the municipal council, the creation of Public Service Houses will aim to consolidate essential daily procedures into a single location. The first site will open in the course of the year 2025, right in the city center.
The municipal council of Nice approved last week a project designed to bring public services closer to residents. Public Service Houses will be created to centralize administrative procedures. The goal: to reduce travel, waiting times, and the complexity associated with the diversity of service counters.
These houses will welcome citizens at various stages of their lives. They will be designed to be accessible locations offering a wide range of services: civil status, citizenship, childhood, digital support, and social services.
The first site will open its doors by July 2025 in the premises of Guichet Nice Facile, rue Tonduti de l’Escarène. This building, already known to Nice families, will be renovated. It will retain its current functions related to childhood and expand its offering to encompass all common administrative procedures.
Services to be offered include:
– applications for and collection of identity documents,
– voter registration,
– life certificates,
– short-stay hosting certificates,
– conscription day registrations.
Users will be able to make appointments online via the official city website or by phone. Some procedures will be available without an appointment.
This first site will also host the Gabriel Fauré neighborhood town hall, the “foreigner reception” service, as well as specialized municipal agents. Local government representatives will hold office hours there. External partners will be involved, such as the CAF, the fiscal administration, and legal conciliators.
A space will be dedicated to digital support. The public will find equipment and assistance for navigating online procedures. The presence of public writers will be enhanced.
A gradual coverage across the entire territory
The project is not limited to the city center. Two other houses will be opened in the East and West neighborhoods of Nice between 2025 and 2026. This expansion aims to offer equitable access to public services throughout the municipality.
For the municipality, this initiative is a direct response to the needs expressed by residents. It intends to facilitate access to rights, improve reception, and give back time to both users and agents.
These new places also aim to be listening spaces, especially for newcomers. Personalized welcomes will be organized, as well as meetings focused on parenting.
