This Sunday, March 22, from 9 AM to 5 PM, there will be a snowshoe hike through the Haute Vallée du Cians: the Mercantour massif reveals itself in its winter enchantment. Led by Thierry SCHWAB, a State-certified mountain guide and partner of the Mercantour National Park.
Depending on snow conditions, departure will be by vehicle either towards the Col de la Couillole or towards Les Launes to put on snowshoes.
This walk is a unique and fun opportunity to discover the joys of snowshoeing in the vast open spaces, progressing at each person’s pace so that enjoyment is the only guide.
Searching for animal tracks, learning the history of winter sports in the Alpes Maritimes, and raising awareness about the fragility of the natural environment will be the main themes.
Return around 1 PM to the Relais du Mercantour to share the delicious winter-scented meal prepared by Maryse and Benoit.
In the afternoon, meet Maryse Molinier’s goats, where she will explain all the techniques of making goat cheese.
It will be possible to taste and purchase her delicious products.
