Mr. Charles Ange Ginรฉsy, president of the Alpes-Maritimes Department and president of the Administrative Council of SDIS 06, handed over decommissioned vehicles from SDIS 06 to 7 humanitarian and cooperation-focused associations, in the presence of Chief Controller Renรฉ DIES, departmental director of SDIS 06, and members of the Alpes-Maritimes departmental council.
Yesterday, 7 firefighter vehicles were displayed on the forecourt of the departmental council. The fleet consisted of 3 VSAVs (emergency victim assistance vehicles), 2 CCFs (forest fire tankers), 1 EPSA (semi-automatic pivoting ladder), and 1 VLTT (all-terrain liaison vehicle). These 7 decommissioned vehicles, still in very good operational condition, will be given a second life on various sites around the world. The present associations are all engaged in a variety of actions but which serve, in a complementary way, the demands of solidarity and civic involvement: perfect harmony, defined geographical sectors, and ambitions that remain intact over time.
Among them are organizations such as UDSP 06, ULIS, or the Forest Fire Intervention Section. โThis act of solidarity is a useful initiative that allows the vehicles to have a second life in the realm of the associative world and to be operational in countries that experience natural or humanitarian disasters,โ declared Charles Ange Ginรฉsy.
