More fear than harm, but the connection to what happened in recent days in the Latium region of Italy could not escape the residents to the east of Nice and in the hinterland.
In fact, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.86 (source: Géoazur) was detected on Saturday at 9:14 PM local time by all the seismic stations in the region. The tremor lasted 4 seconds.
The epicenter was located 3.5 km southeast of Breil-sur-Roya at a depth of about 6 km.
According to the reports received, this event was felt in Nice, Peille, Sclos de Contes, Eze, Cagnes, Châteauneuf Villevielle, Saorge, Antibes, Berre les Alpes, and Limone.
An explosion-like noise was heard by the residents of Breil-sur-Roya.
There is no information regarding any potential damage, which, however, seems unlikely given the low intensity of the tremor.
