To meet the needs of the neighborhood, the cultural center and social services association of Saint-Pierre d’Arène Church, along with the Diocese, have proposed a project to the City of Nice to create a socio-cultural center in the basement of the church. This development project will be presented this Thursday, February 21.
Following the reclassification of the basement from public domain to municipal private domain, the City Council on December 17, 2012, approved the objective agreement for developing the basement of Saint-Pierre d’Arène Church.
This development project, with a total cost of €2,850,000 and a surface area of 1,400m², includes creating a 250-seat auditorium, meeting rooms, offices and storage spaces, a foyer with a dining area, an exhibition space, and a food bank.
To support the realization of these local facilities, Christian Estrosi has proposed that the City of Nice subsidizes this work with €1,500,000, while the General Council will contribute €300,000.
