A strong growth tourism report for the Nice Tourist Office

Latest News

In 2024, the Nice Côte d’Azur Tourist Office confirms its dynamism with increasing numbers. With this impressive record, attention is already focused on diversification and event management.

After an already remarkable 2023, Nice continues its momentum in 2024. The average occupancy rate of accommodations reaches 78%, an increase of 2.5 points compared to the previous year. The most represented customers come from the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland.

These good results can be attributed to several factors. The opening of new air routes, such as the one linking Philadelphia to Nice, has expanded international connections. The year-round operation of routes to Rabat and Tenerife has also improved the region’s accessibility.

Event Management, a Major Driver

The major sporting events of 2024 have played a key role in this dynamic. The Grand Arrival of the Tour de France in Nice attracted a record number of visitors. This event generated an occupancy rate of 98% in accommodations, with economic benefits exceeding 140 million euros for the region.

The packed calendar also included the Olympic Games, Ironman, and the Nice-Cannes Marathon, contributing to the region’s reputation. The Tour de France particularly gathered 300 million viewers in 190 countries.

A Strategy for the Future

With these performances, Nice Côte d’Azur demonstrates its ability to attract a diverse clientele throughout the year. The Tourist Office intends to continue this momentum with projects focused on winter tourism, event management, and sustainable development.

These figures confirm Nice’s position as an essential destination. A balanced and ambitious strategy should allow maintaining this momentum in 2025 and beyond.
