The President of the French Republic, Mr. François Hollande, officially kicked off the opening ceremony of the 7th edition of the Francophone Games in front of numerous personalities, including the highest authorities, the Secretary General of the OIF, Abdou Diouf, and the President of the National Committee of these Games and the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi.
For Abdou Diouf: “There is nothing more motivating than seeing the young generation come together, exchange, and connect. The presence of these 3,000 young people constitutes a tremendous message of hope.”
The swimmer and Olympic champion, Camille Muffat, and the prodigious conductor, Lionel Bringuier, who has led the greatest orchestras in Europe and the United States, both from Nice, were the flag bearers of the ceremony.
The 54 delegations paraded in their traditional costumes, proud to represent their countries on an international stage, creating a procession rich in colors.
After a vibrant hour and a half show with numerous fireworks, the celebration was complete. Of course, the organization was not flawless. There was some confusion regarding the seating of the guests and information that was not always coordinated. However, the explanation also lies in the often undisciplined behavior of the guests, which in some cases bordered on rudeness and incivility.
But since perfection is not of this world, bon voyage to those who love to criticize for the sake of criticism.
