In 1971, the Isola 2000 resort was established, with 18 kilometers of slopes, a chairlift, and five drag lifts… 50 years later, Isola 2000 has become the most internationally renowned ski resort in the Alpes-Maritimes and is among the Top 10 resorts with guaranteed snow! Today, it proudly offers its 120 kilometers of slopes, 42 pistes, 20 ski lifts, a snow park, and numerous champions!
This success is the result of a consistent investment policy by the Syndicat Mixte des Stations du Mercantour.
Since 2003, the Isola 2000 ski area has benefited from 88 million euros for various developments, 16.8 million euros for snow guarantee with 428 snow cannons covering 62% of the ski area, and 2.8 million euros for avalanche safety measures.
By 2027, 45 million euros will be invested to further enhance the resort: restructuring and improving the core area, the snow front, the recreational space in the Belvédère-Roubine sector, modernizing the Pelevos access, and strengthening the artificial snow network.
