A theater aperitif for improvising in Nice

Latest News

We knew him as a hairdresser, actor, and a troublemaker on Facebook, and now we find Henri Concas on a new stage in Nice, the B.spot, with a new concept combining convivial aperitif and theatrical improvisation. The principle is simple, a gathering around a drink and actors, whether experienced or not, who improvise on themes proposed by all present. Explanations!

aide.jpg Nice Premium: Henri, what is the concept of apéro impro?

Henri Concas: A.I.D.E… Apéro Impro Ten Euros!

The apéro, like the moment that warriors used to relax after a battle to remake the world and prepare for the next one around a drink… Nowadays, with less violence, the apéro allows you to share a convivial moment before heading home.

For Lisiane Macari and yours truly, it’s an opportunity to laugh, relax, avoid turning on the TV and be creative for the next theatrical season. The actors perform in real-time as they only have 4 minutes to create the characters proposed by the audience, who, upon arrival, write and drop topics that will be drawn at random.

The idea is to PLAY… and for a future fifty-year-old like I will be on July 22, it’s a return to childhood, playing without overthinking!

NP: What is the B.Spot?

HC: It is a growing venue created by P. Benarrouche, who comes from the world of music and who kindly decided to include a theatrical universe in his spaces. Lisiane Macari’s troupe (a talented young director and actress) has been performing for a year in what should soon become a staple of Nice’s theater scene…

I still remember Lisiane discovering the B.Spot, amazed by a place where everything is top-notch in terms of sound, installed by the indispensable Alex from SB Music and a sound and light control room managed by Gilles Peynet, as competent as he is inventive.

NP: It’s the return of Wednesdays but for adults…

HC: It’s true, as I was saying, the former children that we all are will get to have fun again being a dog, a president, a doctor, and live these situations while laughing…

NP: Any projects for the school year?

HC: YES, and very beautiful ones… I am finishing writing a play that Lisiane should stage in September. Your question suits me well because this way Lisiane, who is supposed to be our director, cannot refuse anymore… ah ah ah!!!

The story takes place in the hair salon world, with a detective twist… I also have the pleasure of writing for friends: Pascale, Karim, Steven, and Pascale, my wife, who is also involved in the writing.

You will see 5 actors who will introduce you to my universe (or reintroduce it for my Facebook friends), my tidbits collected over 35 years in hairdressing, and a detective investigating in this cultural hub!

But you will learn more after the summer and these impro apéro Wednesdays where we expect many of you…
