The protest movement against vaccination is losing steam, Saturday after Saturday.
Banned in certain central areas by the Prefecture, the march has become itinerant, featuring the traditional parade along the promenade and a passage in front of the Negresco.
Despite these measures, a minor confrontation between police and protesters occurred near Avenue Jean Mรฉdecin, which was blocked off. Only the most determined positioned themselves in front of the police in hopes of provoking a reaction that could be filmed and broadcast with the caption “police assaults protesters.”
In any case, the number of protesters is noticeably decreasing, with the official count this Saturday being one thousand people.
On the other hand, when looking at the vaccination figures, nearly 50 million complete cycles, it is quite clear which side the balance is tipping towards.
This umpteenth day of protest, the 14th, was anecdotal: a few slogans, a few signs, and then, turning around, people headed home.
