This is the first test election following the municipal elections in Nice, featuring a wide range of candidates who participated in the succession of Jacques Peyrat.
Thus, the “Nice Together” party will be represented by the duo Benoît Kandel/Denise Fabre, the Socialist Party will have candidates Frédérique Grégoire-Concas and the incumbent general councilor, Patrick Allemand. From the Republican Agreement side, André Chauvet will be the representative, accompanied by Antoinette Franchi, while Patrick Mottard and his movement “Left Otherwise” have opted for the candidacy of Sami Cheniti. Finally, the Alternatives are proposing Yvon Guesnier, a school director in the canton, accompanied by Alice Ribière, and the Communist Party has chosen the pair Robert Injey/Roselyne Grac.
There is thus a challenging starting grid, with a second round almost certain, yet with a significant unknown: the number of participants in the second round. This race will be the first real electoral confrontation at a distance between the Deputy Mayor, Christian Estrosi, and the municipal councilor, Patrick Allemand. Each has played their best card with the candidacies of Frédérique Grégoire-Concas and Benoît Kandel, and while some hope to hold their territory, others already imagine wresting the fief from the enemy.
An Express-Mode Election
With just a fortnight to campaign, candidates must improvise an “express” campaign, if only to convince the residents of the twelfth canton to go to the polls during two extended weekends (May 1st and May 8th). Additionally, what if the weather is good?

One, or rather two, upcoming quite complicated elections for new candidates entering the General Council under the presidency of Eric Ciotti who, at one point, had also been considered a potential candidate for this same twelfth canton.
