The City of Nice will implement traffic and parking arrangements this weekend following the Prom’Classic taking place this Sunday, January 8. Here’s an overview of the changes being made this weekend.

With the traditional Prom’Classic taking place this Sunday, January 8, 2023, a traffic and parking system will be put in place in the city to facilitate weekend travel. Here is the list of changes planned for this weekend, January 7 and 8.

Nice Centre

Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 4 AM to 2 PM

Closed to traffic

  • Avenue Félix Faure, between Rue Alberti and Place Masséna (for oversized vehicles)
  • Promenade des Anglais, north lane, from Avenue Max Gallo to Boulevard Gambetta
  • Promenade des Anglais, south lane, from Rue Honoré Sauvan to Avenue Max Gallo
  • Rue Bréa
  • Rue Van Loo
  • Rue Milton Robbins
  • Rue Saint-François-de-Paule, between Rue Desboutin and Avenue Max Gallo
  • Avenue Max Gallo
  • Boulevard Jean Jaurès, between Place Masséna and Descente Auguste Escoffier
  • Quai des États-Unis from Place du 8 Mai 45
  • Rue Desboutin, Place Masséna
  • Rue Alexandre Mari, from Rue Saint-François-de-Paule to Rue de l’Hôtel de Ville, possible reversed traffic from 4 AM to 7 AM and 9:30 AM to 2 PM
  • Entrance to the Liautaud tunnel from Avenue Max Gallo
  • Quai Rauba Capeu from Place Guynemer

Traffic restrictions

All perpendicular roads providing access to the Promenade des Anglais, between Boulevard Gambetta and Avenue Max Gallo, become dead ends (residents’ access allowed via interior roads).

Closed to traffic

  • Avenue Félix Faure, between Rue Alberti and Place Masséna
  • Avenue de Verdun (except vehicles exiting Masséna and Plaza parking)
  • Rue Chauvain, between Rue Gioffredo and Avenue Félix Faure
  • End of Rue Guidoni

Nice Promenade des Anglais

Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 6 AM to 1 PM

Closed to traffic

  • Promenade des Anglais, south lane, from Avenue des Grenouillères to Rue Honoré Sauvan
  • Magnan Tunnel
  • Carras Port
  • Promenade des Anglais, north lane, from Boulevard Gambetta to the intersection of Avenue des Grenouillères
  • Avenue du Capitaine Ferber

Traffic restrictions

All perpendicular roads providing access to the Promenade des Anglais, between Avenue des Grenouillères (not included) and Boulevard Gambetta, become dead ends (residents’ access allowed via interior roads).

Access to Old Nice

  • ACCESS: Crotti descent permanently open
  • EXITS: Auguste Escoffier descent / Rue des Ponchettes (towards the Port)

Bike lanes

Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 4 AM to 2 PM

Closure of the bike lanes on Avenue de Verdun, the Promenade des Anglais (section between Rue du Congrès and Avenue Max Gallo), and Quai des États-Unis (section between Avenue Max Gallo and Place du 8 Mai).

Parking prohibited

From Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 8 PM to Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 2 PM

  • Promenade des Anglais, south and north lanes in their entirety
  • Promenade Corniglion Molinier, south lane in its entirety
  • Avenue du Capitaine Ferber in its entirety

  • Quai des États-Unis in its entirety

  • Rue Saint-François-de-Paule, between Avenue Max Gallo and Rue Bréa
  • Avenue Gustave V, between the Promenade des Anglais and the parking lot, excluding two-wheel parking
  • Rue Bréa, between Quai des États-Unis and Rue Saint-François-de-Paule

Parking accessibility

All parking lots remain accessible except:

Sulzer Parking

  • Access Closed
  • Exit possible via Saint-François-de-Paule from 4 AM to 7 AM and 9:30 AM to 2 PM

Rhul Méridien Parking

  • Access Closed
  • Exit via Rue Maccarani

Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 7 AM to 9:30 AM

Plaza Parking

  • Access Closed
  • Exit possible

Masséna Parking

  • Access Closed
  • Exit possible
