A traffic radio for the SNCF

Latest News

The management of SNCF is committed to keeping passengers informed in real-time about rail traffic. With regional updates every 15 minutes, travelers can easily access relevant information. This monitoring is available on SNCF websites, at train stations and SNCF locations through special gateways, on WiFi radios, as well as on mobile phones (iPhone, and gradually all phones equipped with 3G).

“A radio closer to users where your issues are the priority.” This is the concept implemented by Guillaume Pépy, the president of SNCF. Any delay over thirty minutes is reported. The radio is customized according to one of the 21 regional segments set up.

The goal? To make SNCF La Radio the main information tool for the company and travelers. A radio ready to adapt its programs according to unexpected traffic situations: accidents, strikes, etc. The principle is therefore very similar to highway radios like Radio Trafic which broadcasts on FM in the southern half of the country.

On the entertainment side, SNCF on the air won’t fall short. They promise quality music programming with musical discoveries or rediscoveries. Also available as podcasts, information and leisure segments are hosted by a team of 30 journalists.

Launched on Wednesday, January 7, SNCF La Radio will have to prove itself to the 3.7 million travelers who use its services daily. Azuréens? Get on your phones!
