“Protect the Water” is a traveling campaign aimed at raising public awareness of water management issues. It is part of a project call launched by the Rhône Méditerranée Corse Water Agency.
The aim is to inform the general public about the Water Agency’s 10th program (2013-2018), which aims to support actions contributing to the conservation of water resources and combating aquatic pollution, in support of the many actions of the Metropolis.
This campaign runs until August 31, 2013, in the municipalities of the Tinée and Vésubie Valleys and explains the essential role played by the water of the Haut-Pays.
The campaign consists of exhibition days and water-themed activities, as well as free guided tours of water and sanitation facilities.

Guided tours of drinking water and sanitation facilities organized for the public, allowing an understanding of the metropolitan area’s richness and observing, from the peaks to the coast, the different stages of the water cycle
Mountain hiking to discover a river water intake supplying the village of Lantosque
Route No. 1: On the Water Paths at Lantosque

Duration: 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM (group of 15 people)
Meeting point: Lantosque Town Hall square
This mountain hike, accessible to all, will help you discover the river water intake that supplies part of the village of Lantosque. You will enjoy the views of the valley while walking along the Riou. This outdoor visit will conclude with a tour of the drinking water treatment plant.
Route No. 2: The Valdeblore Wastewater Treatment Plant

Meeting point: Valdeblore High School (La Bolline)
Thanks to this wastewater treatment plant inaugurated in 2012, the different treatment processes used to sanitize wastewater will no longer be a mystery to you. Let’s preserve the good ecological status of rivers and receiving environments!
Route No. 3: The Super-Rimiez Water Treatment Plant (Nice)

Meeting point: Super-Rimiez entrance (Avenue de Rimiez)
On the heights of Nice, don’t miss a key step preceding the arrival of water at your tap! In an exceptional site, you will discover the different stages of water treatment.
Note: Wear sports shoes, avoid overly loose clothing on Routes 2 and 3.
