A unique event in Europe: The Princess Charlene of Monaco Prize – Charity Race at the Côte d’Azur Racecourse

Latest News

This afternoon, the Cagnes-sur-Mer racecourse will be the venue for the second edition of the Charity Race. This gallop race is named the “Princess Charlene of Monaco – Charity Race” (H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco having agreed to lend her name for the occasion).

On February 24, the Côte d’Azur Racing Society will once again create an event at the Cagnes-sur-Mer Racecourse by organizing the second edition of the Charity Race. It is a unique corporate social initiative that has already proven successful in South Africa. Around twenty charitable organizations will receive sponsored grants during an exceptional day of racing, which will also feature the first stage of the Défi du Galop, a prestigious challenge held across 15 racecourses in France and abroad.

A prize pool of €50,000 will be distributed to the beneficiary associations of the Charity Race, allocated according to the order of arrival of the horses.

In an official gallop race, each horse will be associated, by random draw, with a charitable organization. About twenty horses will compete over a distance of 1600 meters.

It is a Quinté+ race, taking place on the Polytrack. It will enjoy extensive media coverage, being broadcast live on LCI and Equidia.

Nearly 4,000 visitors attended the races in 2017.
