The town hall is offering a visit to the archaeological crypt for 28 women, members of 4 associations from the priority districts of Nice.

photo_7_-3.jpg On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur invited twenty-eight women, members of six associations from the priority districts of Nice, to visit the archaeological crypt for free. On this occasion, Dominique Estrosi-Sassonne was present. For the general councilor, offering this visit was “a duty to thank all these women for the work they do.”

The visit was conducted in two rounds, as the museum can only accommodate 15 visitors at a time. They expressed delight with the gift given to them as a recognition of their work.

Among the associations are the social center La Ruche, the association La Semeuse, the social center Le Village-CCAS of Nice, the Mediterranean Integration Mediation Association, Elles des Moulins, ADAM, and finally, Trait d’Union Vernier.

This crypt was discovered while the city was carrying out works for the first tramway line. Extensive renovations were necessary to allow citizens to visit it. This crypt was classified as a Historic Monument in the spring of 2012 and was inaugurated in October 2012.

The crypt can be visited for €5 per person. The duration of the visit is about 45 minutes.
