A web TV in Nice: When it’s good, it’s Bosch!

Nice Premium: Jean-Franรงois Bosch, what is Niceteleweb?

Jean Franรงois Bosch: A web TV broadcasting news about Nice and the PACA region, with reports, testimonials, and debates.

NP: Introduce yourself to the visitors of Nice Premium?

JFB: Former communications director for the Hersant group, I was part of the team at the first national FM network, CHIC FM, and participated in the creation of Fun Radio. I also worked with Nicole Covillers for channel 5 and worked on four Dakar Rallies during their heydays. I then joined EUROPE 2 before returning home to Nice to commit myself to Visages du Monde Reportages with Michel BROUCHON, a director from Nice who taught me a lot about broadcasting.

NP: How did the idea of a Nice-based web TV come about?

JFB: It goes without saying that the Internet will truly be the tool of tomorrow. Several major cities in France have already launched web TVs, so why not Nice? As the fifth largest city in France, Nice should be equipped with all kinds of communication methods. We need to stop saying that nothing ever happens in Nice. The Internet offers the chance to promote the city on a local, national, and international level. Proof of this is that over the past four months, Niceteleweb has seen an increasing number of connections internationally.

NP: What will be the purpose of your web media?

JFB: Clearly, we cannot do without the major events already happening in our region, but we especially want to give a platform to all those people working in various fields who are rarely or never talked about. We want to make the reports more intimate and show a different side of the people.

NP: What do you think of the media landscape in Nice?

JFB: I think there are competent people and, as in any field, there are others who are not. There is room for several media outlets in Nice and the region. We need to stop the monopolies. We are in the 21st century, after all; it works in other cities, so why not in Nice?

NP: What are your upcoming projects?

JFB: To further increase proximity, set up live news flashes, and organize even more debates and roundtables to give voice to all those who wish to speak; making Niceteleweb a media where everyone can find something relatable.

NP: Finally, what do you think about a terrestrial or TNT television project in Nice?

JFB: Once again, there is room for this kind of media, but one must really want it. Ideally, the current independent media would form a media hub and work together on a project like this.
