Currently, Nice has 27 public or private cultural establishments, with varying capacities, offering a rich theatrical program likely to interest a wide audience.
Alongside the institutional venues, the national TNN and the municipal Francis Gag, there is a proliferation of small and not so small initiatives that deserve attention and especially promotion to be better known.
This is the reason for this initiative, which, by taking advantage of modern technologies, through the creation of the portal “theatres.nice.fr”, will allow real-time information on all theatrical news.
This tool complements the actions already implemented in favor of theater (Theatre Fortnight, creation of the Nice Theatre-Living Arts Hub, support for the creation of professional companies).
For Jean-Luc Gagliolo, the municipal councilor delegate behind the initiative: “The City of Nice aims to promote its image as a cultural city and its creativity in the field of theater to all audiences by providing them with a digital tool. It will facilitate local interaction between artists and the people of Nice and help support the diffusion of local theatrical creation by offering it real visibility.”
