An assault occurred overnight from Thursday to Friday in the train station district.
This night, around three o’clock in the morning, a woman was the victim of an assault near the Nice Ville train station, on Trachel Street. The assailant, a 31-year-old man, was arrested and taken into custody following an attempted strangling. According to several witnesses, he allegedly shouted “Allah Akbar” during the assault. The individual was unknown to the police, was unarmed, and did not have his identification documents on him.
This assault comes exactly one year after the attack at the Notre-Dame Basilica that resulted in three deaths.
