It’s a scarcely believable story, but true nonetheless. Becoming a millionaire thanks to Brigitte Bardot is what happened to this woman from Nice, who wishes to remain anonymous. On December 31, she bought a newspaper dedicated to the actress’s death, which occurred on December 28, 2025, before trying her luck in the special New Year’s draw.
Result: she pocketed 5 million euros. In its statement, the Française des Jeux indicates that “the winner says that Brigitte Bardot brought her luck.”
The FDJ also explains that the star accompanied this woman throughout her life, to the point where she was sometimes called “Brigitte”, due to her style and taste for scarves. The winner also revealed she had “carefully hidden her ticket in a jam jar, in the kitchen.”
For now, the new millionaire wishes to remain discreet. She is considering simple projects, such as buying a bigger apartment, a trip to Spain, or a stay in New York.
A jackpot that boosts business
In the tobacco shop “Le Riquier”, the manager Claude Ferreri expresses his happiness for the winner. “I’m especially happy for the person who won,” he explains.
This point of sale is not new to big wins. In 2018, a customer had already won 2 million euros. The owner jokes: “You know what they say, never two without three.”
According to him, this type of victory creates “a commercial appeal” for a few days. “Customers say that this is where it happens,” he adds.
A new jackpot is scheduled for Valentine’s Day, on February 14. Claude Ferreri hopes that luck will strike again at his establishment.
